Authors are advised to read carefully about the manuscript submission guidelines before submitting the manuscript to this journal. No processing fee or publication fee will be collected from the author(s). Please submit your manuscript online after registration to the journal.

JHSPE follows International Committee of Medical Journals Editors (ICMJE) 'Recommendations for the conduct, reporting, editing, and publication of scholarly work in the medical journals' (www.icmje.org/recommendations/).

JHSPE publishes manuscripts in the form of Editorial, Original article, Review article, Short communication / Research letter, Case report, Letter to the editor, correspondence and others in the form of reports related to health sciences and professions education.

All manuscripts should be prepared according to the guidelines given by “Uniform requirements for Manuscripts submitted to Biomedical Journals” given by “International Committee of Medical Journals Editors”.

Please follow manuscript checklist based on ICMJE criteria ( http://www.ejmanager.com/mnstemps/28/ICMJEchecklist.doc ) while submitting your manuscript.

The editors and the publisher disclaim any responsibility or liability for statements and opinions expressed in articles published in this journal.

Guidelines for types of manuscripts:

Editorial: The manuscript for editorial will be invited by the Editor-in-chief from eminent professionals with vast personal experience in the field. The word limit is from 2000 to 2500.

Original article: It includes intervention studies, randomized controlled trials, outcome studies, case-control studies, educational studies, surveys etc. The structured abstract (word limit: 200-250 for abstract) and manuscript (word limit up to 3000 words excluding references and abstract) needs to be written.

Review article: It includes critical assessments of literature and data sources. The word limit for abstract is 200-250 and for manuscript up to 5000.

Short Communication, research letter: Here the study with clinical and social interest can be sent with abstract in 200-250 words, manuscript text up to 2000 words and having up to 10 references.

Case Report: The new interesting case with clinical significance is to be written with abstract in 200-250 words and text up to 2000 words (excluding references and abstract) and having up to 10 references.

Letter to the editor, correspondence: The word limit should not be more than 500.

 

While submitting the article, ensure that the following items are included:

Title Page: must include

  • Types of manuscript like Original article, Case Report etc.

  • The title of the article

  • Running title or short title

  • Names of authors with their designation and their institutional affiliations

  • Address for correspondence: The name, address, contact number and e-mail address of the corresponding author

  • Word counts separately for abstract and for the text (excluding the references and abstract), number of tables and figures or photographs

  • Source(s) of support

  • Conflict of interest

  • Acknowledgement, if any

 

Abstract Page

It must include full title of the manuscript and an abstract stating the context (background), material and methods, result and conclusion and keywords.

 

Manuscript text:

Personal identity of the authors should not be disclosed in the manuscript. It must be written with broad subtitles including introduction, material and methods, results, discussion and conclusion. Please follow authentic reporting guidelines for specific study designs like CONSORT, STARD, QUOROM, STROBE, PRISMA etc. Use the Vancouver referencing style for witting references.
